Baby Boomer Babbling-er-Musings

I'm from the baby boomer generation. I have a mop of white hair, courtesy of my gene pool. And a botox-free face that sports frown lines in the forehead and around the eyes. Love handles instead of a waistline. Can't say I'm exactly crazy about any of these old age indicators but I accept them with grace. And now I've lived long enough now that I ponder on a lot of things, new and old.

World's Longest Yard Sale Adventures

I'm sharing just a few of the pics from the annual World's Longest Yard Sale weekend.  This yard sale stretches from Gadsden, Alabama all the way up to Yankee country in Addison, Michigan, having grown to 690 miles of bargains, treasures, and junk!

The hubby and I headed on over to the starting point in Gadsden and over the course of two fun-filled days, we got a load of loot!  We searched through rusty, crusty boxes, caught up with friends, dodged mud holes, tried to look nonchalant over a prize, while inside about to burst with excitement, exchanged high-fives when we got the price down, and...well, I think you get the mental picture.

Yard Sale-ling is not for everyone, but we like it!  Sometimes we go Hog Wild!

Yard Sale Sally (me) and Yard Sale Eddie (the hubby) Not our actual names, but we like the moniker.

I ran into a dear friend that I haven't seen in a coon's age.  We have been friends since we were teenagers.  It was so good to see you, Marjie!

I like this guy's smile.  Think he gets to go home with me!

Love me some wicker, but a farm gal just can't keep white stuff clean so had to leave it.

You just never know when you will come across a street rod - a purple one at that - doing some off road wheelies.

I was kind of sad that I couldn't take this one home with me.  Late in the day and our yard sale limo was full.

A cool old iron bed out in the yard.

This was a great old glider!  By late afternoon, I took a break anywhere that looked inviting.

Just in case you are wondering, the next annual World's Longest Yard Sale is in 365 days, 8 hours, and 14 minutes.  To keep up with the countdown and read all about it, check out the yard sale's official web site.
